The fullness of the shape is generated by the gathers of the elasticated white smocks that encircle the bust. These are hand-embroidered, giving this top a chic edge, while the ribbon on the straps, in cotton twill whose mastic color echoes that of the cherries embroidered on the smocks, gives it a casual edge.
Other details you won't see, but which are important: the back of the smocks is trimmed with a clean fabric for added comfort, and the English seams reinforce the solidity of the assemblies and make the piece durable for little sisters.
